background:
i have combination sensitive skin. i do not have a lot of acne, but i get the occasional totm spots. i went to a dermatologist and i am plagued with mild eczema. i am prone to hyperpigmentation. my main focus is to avoid red, dry patches from eczema and lighten old acne scars. i also try to avoid getting spots in the first place to avoid scarring later.
daily regimen:
i received the clarisonic for my birthday and have been using it twice a day for a few days now. it has been a really great addition to my skincare routine. i use a gentle cleanser that i received as a sample from mario badescu. i can tell that it helps my skincare products absorb, because my face is not as sticky or oily after i apply them now.
i am sensitive to benzoyl peroxide (my face gets irritated, red, itchy, dry) and thusly have stopped using neutrogena's on-the-spot. i just got some moisturizer with salicylic acid and acne spot treatment by clean & clear. every other night i use avon anew glycolic pads. on off nights, i try to use m2. in addition, every other night i use a light therapy treatment.
weekly regimen:
i use various masques and treatments such as mb's silver powder and flower & tonic masque. the silver powder helps clear my nose of blackheads. the flower & tonic masque is soothing and helps with flaring spots. it also smells really good. to focus on treating my hyperpigmentation, i would like to try a new serum (ole henriksen's truth serum or shiseido's brightening serum) in replacement of my anew pads and perhaps korres 24-hour wild rose moisturizer. i also want to try mb's whitening masque. approximately every three days, i use microdermabrasion.
